DXA stands for Dual Energy X-ray Absorptiometry and is currently the gold standard for measuring body composition and bone density.  Body composition assessment provides specific values for lean and fat mass which are very useful to assist with monitoring of training goals and determining health status.  Bone density measurements help to determine osteoporosis risk which can identify increased bone fragility and risk of bone fractures.

Scans can be completed without a doctors referral with results explained directly after the test. We do recommend that you discuss your results with your doctor.
