EIM for Cancer Survivors

Exercise is Medicine for Cancer Survivors

More and more research studies have shown that regular exercise is not only safe during and after cancer treatment, but also brings significant benefits to cancer survivors. These include:

  • Manage nausea

  • Manage pain

  • Improve sleeping patterns

  • Reduce bone mineral density loss & maintain muscle mass

  • Improve metabolism & physical function

  • Improve overall fitness

  • Improve quality of life


The purpose of the program is to introduce exercise in a safe and supportive environment and to empower individuals to manage their own physical activity and wellness.  Our Certified Cancer Exercise Specialist will first meet with patients individually to review their health conditions and functional capacity.  Based on the consultation and assessment, the best starting point (home-based training/one-on-one training/mini-group/regular group) will be suggested to each individual and hopefully all cancer fighters can receive the best benefit by being physically active at their own pace.

FitRx for Special Populations

Evidence on the role of physical activity in the prevention and management of chronic disease is overwhelming. Exercise is safe for most people and has many health benefits but for someone who are either at risk of or with diagnosed chronic diseases, exercise safety is a legitimate concern.


The AHC FitRx for Special Populations, is provided for those who need client‐centered, education/training sessions to target the special needs of their given chronic disease.
