The Yo-Yo Intermittent Recovery Test (YYIRT) is a graded intermittent run with recovery until exhaustion. The advantage of YYIRT over the lab-based graded test is its specificity of running surface and recovery time. The completed distance of YYIRT is highly associated with the actual total game distance one can cover, and can provide reference in prescribing aerobic training intensity.
